Scenario
You have configured Exclaimer to apply Server-Side signatures and you are sending emails from alias addresses. You want the email address displayed in the signature to match the alias address you are sending as.
Resolution
NOTE: The steps described here assume that you have already created an email signature. For more information, see how you can create an email signature.
Exclaimer supports the use of email alias addresses and applies your signature to these emails. For more information, see Alias Addresses.
Within the Signature Designer, you can insert a {Sender} field to use custom signatures for your email alias addresses.
Using Alias Addresses
- Log into the Exclaimer portal, and click Launch to open your subscription.
- Navigate to the Signatures option, select the required signature you wish to use with the alias addresses, then click Edit.
- From the left-hand side toolbox, within the Text and Fields section, drag the All {Fields} element onto the signature at the required location you wish to display the alias email address.
The All {Fields} window is displayed.
- From the Field drop-down, select {Sender}.
The {Sender} field contains the email address for an alias email.
Example:
- From the Label drop-down, select an appropriate label for this field, for example, Email.
This step is optional.
- Click OK to save the changes made.
If required, you can make changes to its properties.
- Delete any existing {Email} fields from the signature.
The {Email} field contains the primary email.
- Click SAVE to save the changes made.
NOTES:
- The {Sender} and {Email} fields both contain the email address of the user sending the email.
- The {Email} field contains the user's main email address (the Primary SMTP).
- The {Sender} field is populated by the email address that is actually used to send the email (this can be an alias email address or primary SMTP).
