Scenario
When users reply to an email, the system places the server-side signature directly above the reply separator line (for example, “From:”, “Sent:”, or “On <date> wrote:”). Some users expect additional spacing between the signature and the reply separator.
Reason
This behaviour is expected.
Exclaimer applies the server-side signature and detects common reply separators in the message body that mark the start of the previous conversation. To keep the signature in the latest message content and not inside the quoted conversation, Exclaimer places the signature directly above the reply separator.
Because of this behavior, the signature may appear directly above the reply separator without extra spacing.
Resolution
Server-side signatures always appear above the detected reply separators. This behaviour ensures the signature appears within the latest message content. Any desired spacing should be controlled within the signature design using padding.
To add spacing between the signature and the reply separator:
- Open the signature in the Exclaimer Signature Designer.
As required, select the outer table or the bottom row of the signature.
Add bottom padding to create the desired space.
Save the signature.
This method ensures consistent spacing for all replies and forwards.
