Description
You want to add an audio file to your signature template so that your users can access the voice clip when using the signature.
Resolution
Pre-requisites:
You need access to an online file storage service to upload your audio file.
You need to create a custom attribute to store the link to your audio file. We recommend naming the attribute with a suitable name for display in your template if you are displaying the link as text.

You need to create a custom attribute to store the link to your audio file. We recommend naming the attribute with a suitable name for display in your template if you are displaying the link as text.
To include a voice clip in your signature:
- Upload your audio file to your online storage space.
- Copy the link to your file's location.
- Log in to the location of your custom attribute - this may be the Google Admin Console, the Exchange Online Admin Center, or an on-premise Active Directory (Microsoft Entra Connect). For more information, see How to create and add data to custom attributes.
- Add the link you copied in Step 2 as the data for your custom attribute.
- Save your changes.
- Log into Exclaimer and start a manual data synchronization to synchronize the new attribute.
- Open your signature in the Signature Designer.
-
From the Toolbox, drag and drop an element onto the canvas.
Tip! Most elements can be used to display your custom attribute, but for this solution we recommend using Text, Icons, custom icons, or the All {Fields} element. - If using the Text element, enter { and select your new custom attribute from the list. For more information, see How to add fields to text in your signature template.
- If using the Icons element, or adding a custom icon, select the element on the canvas and expand the Hyperlink section of the Properties pane. In the Destination URL field, enter { and select your new custom attribute from the list. For more information, see the Properties section of Working with the Icons signature element or the Step 2 section of How to add a custom icon.
- If using the All {Fields} element, select your custom attribute from the Field drop-down in the All {Fields} window, then select Ok to add your element to the canvas. For more information, see Working with the All {Fields} element.
- In the unsaved changes banner, select Save.
Tip! You can change which audio files display on a per-user basis (for example, if adding pronunciation clips to usernames) using the Visibility properties of an element. For more information, see How to use conditional visibility.
