Why can I not open my old templates in the new Signature Designer?

Scenario

When trying to open or edit a template made in a legacy version of Exclaimer, you are unable to do so. You may also see a message similar to the following: 
 

Please contact Sales to convert your template to our wonderful new drag 'n' drop editor.

Reason

Legacy versions of Exclaimer are out of date with our current portal-based product, and so templates cannot be transferred to our Signature Designer. 
 

Resolution

You must recreate your old templates in the Signature Designer as they cannot be converted into a new format.
