Description
The Exclaimer Outlook Add-in is an application that can be centrally deployed to Microsoft Outlook and allows any user to add email signatures created within Exclaimer Cloud while composing the email.
Exclaimer Outlook Add-in features:
- The Add-in automatically inserts a signature set as default into the email; giving you confidence that your contact details and organizational branding are present, and in the correct location, when you send your emails.
- The Add-in can also dynamically pick the best signature, depending on who the email is being sent to. For instance, the Add-in can insert your shorter internal signature when you only add internal recipients but insert your content-rich external signature when you add external recipients to the email. - If required, you can select a different signature for a special circumstance - all you need to do is open the Add-in within Outlook and click on the signature you wish to insert.
- The Add-in allows signatures that have been enabled for client-side use in Exclaimer Cloud. For more information, see how you can enable client-side for Microsoft 365 subscription.
Pre-requisites
Before you install the Exclaimer Outlook Add-in, please ensure you have:
Windows
- Outlook Version 2104, Build 13929.20296 or above
- Click to Run (C2R) versions only
- Retail versions only (volume-licensed versions do not currently include the necessary API requirement sets)
NOTE: Specific features may require later versions of Outlook, please refer to the release notes here.
- Microsoft Outlook Web Access
- Microsoft Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 or above
Mac
- Office for Mac [version 16.64 (22081401) or above]
NOTE: Only the New Outlook interface is supported. Go to Outlook > New Outlook to enable it.
Please note that your Microsoft 365 plan must allow access to deploy Microsoft 365 Apps through Microsoft AppSource. Certain plans, such as Office 365 E2 do not support this.
Using the Add-in in Outlook

Using the Add-in in Outlook Web
Follow these steps to use the Exclaimer Outlook Add-in (Outlook Web):
- Log in to your Outlook Web App.
- Click New message to compose a new email.
- Click the Exclaimer icon (
) to select the required signature for your email.
Depending upon the installation, the Exclaimer icon can be found on the bottom toolbar or as an option within the ellipsis ().
- The right-hand pane is now displayed, listing all your signatures, based on your Exclaimer Cloud Signatures subscription, that were added to your Outlook Web.

NOTE: In some circumstances, you may be required to sign in to your Microsoft 365 account at this stage.
- Select the required signature you want to add to your current email conversation. The selected signature is instantly displayed in the message area.

Using the Add-in Outlook Desktop
Follow these steps to use the Exclaimer Outlook Add-in:
- Log in to your Outlook Desktop App.
- Click New Email to compose a new email.
- Within the Message ribbon, click Exclaimer to select the required signature for your email.
NOTE: In some circumstances, you may be required to sign in to your Microsoft 365 account at this stage.
- The right-hand pane is now displayed, listing all your signatures, based on your Exclaimer Cloud Signatures subscription, that were added to your Outlook Desktop.

Using the Add-in on Android/iOS
Pre-requisites: Minimum Outlook Version required:

WARNING! We are currently aware of an issue affecting access to signatures on mobile devices for both Android and iOS users. We have confirmed with Microsoft that this is an issue on their end and we are working with them to ensure that all users get access as soon as possible.
To use the Exclaimer Outlook Add-in on mobile devices:
- Log in to your Outlook app.
- Tap to open a new email. The signature currently set to default is automatically applied to all new emails.NOTE: Selecting a signature manually is not currently supported on mobile devices.
NOTE: The Exclaimer Outlook Add-in can take up to one hour to synchronize updates to signatures and user details. If you have saved a change to the signature design or synchronized updates to user data in the Exclaimer Cloud Portal, please wait for one hour before expecting to see the changes in the Add-in.
