What to do if you receive a Microsoft Word Security Notice?

Scenario

You are using the Exclaimer Signature Update Agent for Outlook in a Microsoft Windows environment, and you receive the following Microsoft Word Security Notice when the agent begins to sync the signature to your machine: 

Reason

This notice is generated due to the use of images or links within your signature.

The Trust Center in Word identifies these as a potential risk during the sync and displays this security notice.

Resolution

Exclaimer has recently released an update to the Exclaimer Cloud Signature Update Agent that does not utilize the Microsoft Word API to update the signatures and therefore does not cause this security notice to occur.

  • You can download the latest version of the Exclaimer Cloud Signature Update Agent using this link. 

  • You can deploy the Exclaimer Signature Update Agent for Windows via Intune.

  • Alternatively, if you are using the ClickOnce version, then the Exclaimer Signature Update Agent will automatically update itself the next time the agent runs.
