Scenario
You are installing the Exclaimer Cloud Signature Update Agent, and you see the following error message:
ERROR: The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Reason
This may occur because the Windows Installer Service is not running on your computer or the Windows Registry has some corrupted entries.
Resolution
To resolve this, check that the Windows Installer service is running, or fix Registry entries using the Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter.

Ensure that the Windows Installer service is running on your computer
- Press the Windows key and R to display the Run window.
- Enter services.msc and press Enter.

The Services window is displayed.
- In the list of Services, locate Windows Installer.
Windows Installer is found in the list of services. You may need to scroll. - Right-click Windows Installer and select Properties. The Windows Installer Properties window is displayed.
- From the Startup type drop-down, select Automatic.
- If Service Status displays Stopped, then select Start. If Service Status displays Running, then skip this step.
- Select Apply then select OK to save the changes and close the window.
- Restart your computer.
Run the Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter
- Download the Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter.
- Run the Troubleshooter.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to detect the problem. The program will detect and accordingly repair any problems found, such as corrupted or damaged registry values.
- Once the repair has been successfully completed, restart your computer.
