Scenario
You would like to know more about Domain-based Message Authentication (DMARC) and how Exclaimer Cloud works with it.
Resolution
DMARC is an email authentication policy that uses the Sender Policy Framework (SPF) and DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) authentication checks. Where supported, it allows the sender's organization to determine how the recipient's mail server handles the message in the event of an authentication failure.
As long as the SPF and DKIM checks pass, the DMARC result should also be a pass.
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is an authentication method that helps protect both email recipients and email senders from forged and phishing email messages.
Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is a protocol used to prevent spammers from sending emails with forged ‘From’ addresses at your domain.
Do I need to do anything to make Exclaimer Cloud work with DMARC?
For the DMARC policy and the DKIM checks, you don't need to make any changes to use Exclaimer Cloud.
For the emails that are routed to Exclaimer Cloud to have server-side signatures applied - in order to pass the SPF check, you need to update the SPF record for each domain your organization will send the email from. For more information, see how you can update the Sender Policy Framework (SPF)
