Additional Azure AD Attributes
A feature available for Exclaimer Cloud. It allows you to have up to 100 extra AD fields, which are available within the template designer for use in your signatures.
Additional AD Attributes
These are the 15 available Custom Attribute fields that already exist within Microsoft 365 mailboxes (under the General > More Options section) within Exchange Online.
Allows you to determine how to deploy your email signatures to your users using signature rules.
You can deploy your email signature in two ways:
Server-side: Signatures are applied once the message has been routed to Exclaimer Cloud. As the signature is applied once the message has been sent, you will not be able to see the signature whilst composing your email. Signatures will be applied to messages sent from any device.
- Client-side: Signatures are synchronized to Office 365 (Outlook and Apple Mail) or G Suite (Gmail) where they are visible whilst composing your email.
This option allows signatures to be applied to emails when the user sends them via alias addresses.
The aspect ratio is relative to re-sizing images and is used within most image editors.
Leave the settings to Auto when setting a width or height to maintain the aspect ratio of the image.
Maintains the aspect ratio of the images and also allows tables to auto-size based on the length and/or height of the content.
Azure Active Directory Connect
Allows you to quickly onboard to Azure AD and can be used to integrate your On-Premises AD and Azure AD environments together - to connect user accounts with a common identity.
This is used by Exclaimer for the Additional Azure AD Attributes feature - a tool to help you configure the Additional Azure AD Attributes for use in Exclaimer Cloud.
Azure Active Directory subscription
Microsoft’s free online offering for Active Directory within Microsoft 365, providing SSO and multi-factor authentication for users.
An image used in the background of a signature template that allows content to be placed on top of it.
A colour used in the background of a signature template that allows content to be placed on top of it.
A default behaviour set when using background images or custom fonts to ensure customization can be seen by all users and recipients without the style being removed by the mail client.
The drag and drop area to build the signature template on. It is usually seen as a grey gridded background.
These form part of a table and are referenced by green lines. Signature elements can be dragged into these spaces to create structures.
This allows you to merge cells within a table (into one or more to create single cells).
Allows you to synchronize signatures directly with the user's Outlook, on both Windows and macOS as well as Apple Mail.
These are used by Google Workspace to manage email flow based on a set of specified Expressions. And, are used by Exclaimer Cloud to enable the Server-side application of email signatures for the users.
In this mode, signatures are synchronized to the user's computers for use in Microsoft Outlook. When messages are sent from Outlook, they are sent directly via Microsoft 365 (they are not routed to Exclaimer Cloud for processing).
A vertical division of a table that contains information or elements of the signature template.
This allows you to merge cells within a table (into one or more, example col-span=2 means two columns have been merged into 1 single column, creating a row).
A term used to identify fonts that are uploaded to the signature template and/or to identify fonts that are not web-safe.
The Custom Attributes and Additional Azure Attributes features are both useful for adding additional, non-standard user information to your signatures. The difference between them is the amount of data available and usage requirements.
Allows you to view logs, identify and rectify the different issues that occur for client-side and server-side signatures in your Microsoft 365 or G Suite subscriptions.
Domain Name System is a system that is used to identify and organize Web domains.
This feature allows you to create a new email signature similar to an existing signature.
Individual items used to create a signature template. These are referenced by the blue lines and, are usually Text Boxes, Fields and Images.
In order to use a signature, you need to enable it.
By default, when you create a new signature it is disabled.
This dashboard depicts how the email signatures your company sends are engaging with the recipients.
It is an email signature management solution that lets you centrally manage Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) signatures for all users and devices, via an easy-to-use web portal.
This is a routing agent used by Exclaimer Cloud to allow for On-Premises mailboxes to receive a signature from Exclaimer Cloud.
A feature that allows users who use both Microsoft 365 and On-Premises Exchange to utilize all the benefits of the full Exclaimer Cloud solution (such as the template designer on a friendly web-based user interface) for all their mailboxes; without migrating from their On-Premises Exchange environment into Cloud.
This feature allows you to copy the signature template to your PC.
Feedback Power Up
This signature element is a great way to gain feedback on your company's services. It is an essential tool to help some of the vital teams within your organization, to name a few: the Service Desk, Helpdesk, Customer Support teams, and Customer Success teams, to get more feedback from customers and staff.
A term to indicate dynamic content that pulls from Microsoft 365 and/or the Local Active Directory via Azure – the data changes per person.
Allows you to organize your email signatures and, if required, restricts access to specific users.
Allows you to define users who can edit signatures within the selected folder, thus providing great flexibility for managing signature content.
This is a list of fonts that control which font displays if the main font is not available. for example, Roboto, Arial, sans-serif.
Used for the front-most colour of text and social media icons.
It is displayed over a background colour.
A container of multiple fields or elements in one space.
These are defined by a red line and are used to move multiple elements at once.
Graphics Interchange Format is a type of image file that can be used in signature templates – they can also be animated files.
In simple words, hierarchy is a way of structuring the signature elements (parent and child relationship).
Inheritance is acquiring properties from the parent element.
This feature allows you to easily import a signature into your Exclaimer Cloud subscription. Supported signature files are those provided by the Signature Design Team or previously exported from Exclaimer Cloud.
The default behaviour to allow fonts, sizes and colours to be used throughout a signature template on many levels, such as canvas, tables, table cells and so on.
It is used when new text boxes are applied automatically.
Joint Photographic Group is a raster image file that can be used in signature templates.
Used to determine the height of lines of text and is usually 2pts larger than the font size being used for signature templates.
The path that an email has taken to be delivered from the Sender’s initial mail client (where the message was composed) to the mailbox of the recipient (where the message can be viewed on a mail client).
Allows you to review and update the rules applied, for the selected signature, to target specific senders and recipients.
Used to create space within a signature template, space around an element’s content and, inside of any defined borders, such as table cells.
The smallest component used of a digital image, but can also be used as a size definition for padding, image sizes, table widths and heights.
Portable Network Graphics is a raster image file that supports lossless compression and is perfect for signature templates.
The size value used for font sizes and is widely used within printed material and mail clients.

Allows you to view the existing sequence of email signatures and, as required, reorder the sequence.
When you add more email signatures, the new signature tiles appear on the All Signatures tab. The order in which the signatures are displayed is important as it reflects the sequence in which the signatures will be applied.

Allows you to use the signature of the user (or group or shared mailbox) you are sending the email on behalf of. So, even though you drafted and sent the email on behalf of someone else (user, group or shared mailbox), you will receive replies with all the contact details of the user (or group or shared mailbox) you sent the email on behalf of.
A feature that updates emails in the user's Sent Items folder allowing them to see the signature on sent emails.
In this mode, signatures are synchronized to the user's computers for use in Microsoft Outlook, or applied by Exclaimer's Cloud service as appropriate. If Exclaimer Cloud processes an email and detects that a signature has been applied via Microsoft Outlook then it routes the email straight to Microsoft 365, for delivery. Alternatively, if no existing signature is detected and an applicable signature is found, that signature is applied before the email is routed to Microsoft 365, for delivery.
This is where your signature takes shape. If you have chosen to create a blank signature, it will be blank until you drag and drop the required signature elements onto it. However, if you have chosen to create a signature based on an Exclaimer template, or to change an existing signature, the canvas will display the selected design.
Each signature is displayed as an individual signature card (in the All Signatures tab) and it consists of a preview of the signature and a summary of the rules used to evaluate if the signature has been applied or not.
Enables you to customize your email signatures to suit your organization's requirements.

Allows you to define which users, within your organization, will not use a particular signature on their company emails.
Allows you to define users (senders) for the selected signature.
Also referred to as a template or signature, and it usually sits at the bottom of the email.
Includes all elements that you can add to your signature.
This dashboard depicts information to help you analyze your organization's signature activity - how you use the emails, who uses the emails, when are the emails being sent, how many emails have signatures applied to them and so on.
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol is a protocol used to prevent spammers from sending messages with forged ‘From’ addresses at your domain.
We recommend that you update your SPF records to include the Exclaimer SPF record - this ensures that your emails are delivered when they are transported through our service.
Sender Policy Framework is a protocol used to prevent spammers from sending messages with forged ‘From’ addresses at your domain.
Scalable Vector Graphics are vector images that can be used within websites without losing quality if re-sized but are not supported by mail clients.
Used to create layouts within signature templates. They are HTML based and made up of rows and columns.
Also referred to as a signature or signature template, and it usually sits at the bottom of the email.
A feature that allows you to select the most appropriate email signature whilst you compose your email in Outlook, from the list of all your signature templates.
A feature that allows you to control what changes users can make to their signatures locally, in Microsoft Outlook.
A feature that allows you to easily upload user attributes to overwrite the existing data that is read from the Azure Active Directory/Google Directory.
Used to control if something can be seen or not, as per values within the fields. For example, if the Mobile value is not empty then the Mobile field will be displayed.
