Scenario
You want to create a signature and apply it to users based on user attributes within the Azure Active Directory (Microsoft 365) or Google Directory. For example, you want to create a signature for all users within a given department or who are based at a certain office, and so on.
Note: You can control which user attributes are displayed for different users by configuring the Conditional Visibility settings. Conditional Visibility determines which attributes to display depending on your preferences.
Resolution
Advanced Queries allow you to be more specific about which users will have a signature applied. With this feature, you can define queries based on user attributes within Azure Active Directory or Google Directory.
Additional Info: The Advanced Query editor uses logic which allows for a highly flexible set of conditions, including logic operators such as: AND, OR, contains, starts with, ends with, is not, does not contain, does not start with and does not end with.

- Log into the Exclaimer Cloud portal, and click Launch to open your subscription.
- From the right-hand side, select Signatures, then from the All Signatures tab, select the required signature and click MANAGE.
The selected signature window is displayed. - Select the Senders tab to add or edit specific users or groups to this (selected) signature.
- Click
Add Advanced Query. (This option is enabled only if the Everyone in my organisation option is not selected).
The Advanced query window is displayed:
Basic Usage - Example - Querying for a single user attribute
- In Query Description, enter a description for the query. Once the query is complete, this description will be displayed on the signature title.
Example: Everyone in the Sales Department. - For Start with, select No-one to start with no users in your query or Everyone to start will all users in your query.
In this example, No-one is selected. - For Then, select Add to add users to your query or Remove to remove users from your query.
TIP! If you start with No-one, then you will need to Add users. If you start with Everyone, then you will need to Remove users.
In this example, Add is selected:
- For User Where, select the user attribute field that needs to be matched.
In this example, Department is selected:
- For Operator, select the appropriate operator.
In this example, 'is' is selected:
- For Value, specify the value that you want to match against.
In this example, Sales is specified:
The query is complete. The whole query is now 'start with no-one, then add users where the department is Sales'. - Click OK, then click SAVE CHANGES.
