Scenario
You are using Exclaimer Cloud and wish to include custom data in your signature, such as adding qualifications after your name (for example, Peter Jones MSc). Although it seems like a good idea, you notice that there is no standard field to represent this data.
Resolution
The resolution depends upon whether you are or you are not synchronizing from an on-premise Active Directory to Microsoft 365 using Azure AD Connect.
CAUTION! You need Global Administrator credentials to proceed further.

If you are synchronizing from an on-premise Active Directory to Microsoft 365 using Azure AD Connect
NOTES:
- Any single-value Active Directory field can be synchronized with Exclaimer Cloud. For more information, see Which fields are multi-value and cannot be synced to Exclaimer Cloud?
- You can also create your own attributes if needed.
- It is only possible to synchronize up to 100 additional fields to Exclaimer Cloud.
To synchronize your custom fields to Exclaimer Cloud
- Open the Active Directory Users and Computers.
- Go to View and select Enable Advanced Features.
- Navigate to the organizational unit which contains the user you wish to populate the data for.
- Double-click the user to open the account's properties, then navigate to the Attribute Editor tab.
NOTE: You will need to enable advanced features to see the Attribute Editor in Active Directory Users and Computers (View > Advanced Features).You can synchronize up to 100 additional single-value attributes to Exclaimer Cloud from the Active Directory including extension Attribute 1-15 (also known as custom attribute 1-15).
Example:
- Add the required data to the selected attribute.
- In Azure AD Connect, enable the optional feature called Directory Extensions and select the required attributes.

- Enable the optional feature called Additional Azure AD Attributes in Exclaimer Cloud.
For more information, see How to set up Additional Azure AD Attributes for use in Exclaimer Cloud.
- Now, add custom fields to the signature design.
Once complete, you will be able to see the custom fields available in the Signature Designer.

If you are not synchronizing from an on-premise Active Directory to Microsoft 365 using Azure AD Connect
This is if you have a standalone Microsoft 365 environment.
NOTE: There are 15 preset custom attributes to make use of in Microsoft 365.
To synchronize your custom fields to Exclaimer Cloud
Populate the data in the custom attribute data for the users - this is done within Exchange Online:
- Log in to the Exchange Online admin portal (https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com) as an Administrator.
The Exchange admin center is displayed.

From the left-hand navigation menu, select Recipients, then select Mailboxes.
- Select the mailbox to which you wish to add the custom fields. The details are displayed on the right-hand pane.

Select the Others tab then click Custom attributes.

- Add the required data to one of the 15 custom attributes fields.
NOTE: Make sure you use the same attribute for all the users you wish to add data for. - Add custom field into the signature design.
Once complete, you will be able to see the custom fields available in the Signature Designer.

NOTE: Extension attributes 1-15 will always show as 'CustomAttribute' in Exclaimer Cloud.
Other fields from On-Premise AD will be called AAD.<FieldName>
