Once you have created a signature, you can determine how it is deployed to your users using signature rules.
Note:
There are two options when defining signature rules:

Server-side: Signatures are applied once the message has been routed to Exclaimer Cloud. As the signature is applied once the message has been sent, you will not be able to see the signature whilst composing your email. Signatures will be applied to messages sent from any device.
- Client-side: Signatures are synchronized to Microsoft 365 (Outlook and Apple Mail) or G Suite (Gmail) where they are visible whilst composing your email.
This article describes the steps on how you can apply signature rules for client-side deployment.

Applying client-side signature rules
Note: Client-side signatures are only currently available for the following email clients and Exclaimer products:
Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for Office 365
Microsoft Outlook (on Windows and macOS)
Apple Mail (macOS only)
Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for G Suite
Gmail (Web browser only)
Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for Office 365

To apply client-side signature rules:
- Log into the Exclaimer portal (portal.exclaimer.com) and Launch your subscription. All existing signatures (and signature folders) are displayed on the Home page, in the processing sequence.
- Hover your cursor over the signature that you wish to update and select the Signature rules option:
- The Signature rules window is displayed.
Note: The Signature rules window is different for Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for Office 365 and Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for G Suite products.
For Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for Office 365: - By default, the Server-side (Office 365) tab is opened. Select the Client-side (Outlook) tab:
- Switch on the Download this signature to the client option then set the remaining options as required.
- You can set the following options by default:
- Signature on all New Messages (All messages in Apple Mail) OR
- Signature on Forwards & Replies
- Click Download to download the client-side agent for both Windows and macOS.
Caution: For Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for Office 365 you need to ensure that the Exclaimer Cloud Signature Update Agent is installed on the end user's PC for it to download signatures for use in Outlook.

For Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for G Suite:
You need to run a signature synchronization from your Exclaimer Cloud portal.
