Relevant Products: Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for Office 365
Scenario
When you view an email in the mail client (such as, Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail and so on) the URL (for example, an email address or website) appears blue and underlined.
Reason
Mail clients such as Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail and so on recognise when something should be clickable and, by default, change the style to blue and underline.
Resolution
To resolve this issue you need to enter a (physical) link.
To apply a link to the text box:
-
Within the signature template, select the field where the Uniform Resource Identifiers (URI) need to be entered.
Note: The most common Uniform Resource Identifiers (URI) are:
mailto: Email Address
http://, https:// Web Pages
tel: Telephone Numbers
sip, skpe: Skype
fax: Fax (no longer supported)
-
Click Text then select Add Hyperlink.
The HyperLink window is displayed.
- In Destination URL, enter the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) followed by the required Uniform Resource Locator (URL). If the URL is a field, then use curly brackets ({ }) to bring up the list of fields, then select the required option.
- In Tooltip, enter the tooltip you want to display when the mouse hovers over.
- Click OK to save the changes made.
These new changes will override the default settings on the mail client.
