Scenario
You are using an Address, Contact, Personal, or All {Fields} element in your signature. Some users do not have user data for the {Field} in your design, and when they send a signature, a blank space appears where the information would be. You want to stop the {Field} appearing instead of showing that data is 'missing'.
Resolution
In the visibility section of the Properties pane, you can use conditional visibility to hide a {Field} if there is no data for it to display. When the signature is sent, if there is no data for the {Field} in the sender's user data, the element will not appear in the signature instead of displaying an empty space.
To add a visibility condition for an empty field:
- Open the signature template within the Signature Designer.
- Select the {Field} on the canvas.
- In the Properties pane, expand the Visibility section.
- Select the Visible when radio button.
The selected element is displayed in the first drop-down list.
- From the second drop-down list, select is not empty.
Select the element on the canvas. In the Properties pane, expand the Visibility section.
- Select Save Changes to save your template.
Tip! User data can be used to control the visibility of any element, not just {Fields}. See How to use conditional visibility for more ways to apply visibility conditions.
