- Drag and drop this element into your design.
For example:
- Having dropped the element, the Image/Logo window is displayed. Choose what type of image to add.
- Within the Image/Logo window, you can either:
- Link to an image that's hosted elsewhere. In this case, ensure that the Linked Image URL radio button is selected and enter the appropriate URL.
OR
- Embed the required image in the signature. In this case, ensure that the Embedded Image Upload radio button is selected and click the Upload Image button to locate and select the required image file.
Note: For information about the pros and cons of each method, please see our Embedded images vs hosted images in email signatures article.
Image properties
When you add or edit an image or logo, the image properties are displayed. These properties are summarized below:
Image Source properties are used to specify where the image file can be found:
Linked Image URL | If required, enter the appropriate URL for the image that you wish to display. |
Embedded Image Upload | To embed an image in your design, click the Upload button to locate and upload the required file. |
Hyperlink properties
Hyperlink properties are used to apply a hyperlink to the image (so when a recipient clicks the image, they are directed to the associated web page):
Destination URL | Enter the required target URL |
Alt text | Enter 'alternate' text to be shown if, for some reason, this image cannot be displayed. |
Background
Background properties are used to define what (if any) background is applied for the image. The default setting is for transparency however, you can choose a colour if required.
Visibility
Visibility properties are used to determine the circumstances under which the image should/should not be displayed:
Always visible | The default setting is always to display the image. |
Hidden if this field is empty | You can choose to hide this image if a (selected) user attribute is empty. |
Auto-hiding separator | This option does not apply to images. |
Alignment
Alignment properties are used to determine horizontal alignment for the image - choose Left, Center or Right as required.
Border
All | Select a border type, size and colour and ensure that the All the same check box is ticked. These settings will be applied for all borders (left, right, top and bottom). This is the default setting (by default, no border is applied because the border size is set to 0). |
Left / Right / Top / Bottom |
Ensure that the All the same check box is not ticked and define individual border properties as required. |
Padding
Padding properties are used to add spacing for the image:
All | The default setting is for there to be no padding - i.e. Left, Right, Top and Bottom are set to 0 and the All the same check box is selected. |
Left / Right / Top / Bottom |
Ensure that the All the same check box is not ticked and define individual padding properties as required. For further information, see Adding spacing between elements in your signature. |
Size
Size properties are used to define the size allowed to display the image:
Width | Leave the default value of auto to allow this field to adjust its width, depending on the size of the message viewer. Alternatively, specify an exact width (in pixels or points). |
Height | Leave the default value of auto to allow this field to adjust its height, depending on the size of the message viewer. Alternatively, specify an exact width (in pixels or points). |
Are there any restrictions with the images that I use?
