Description
The Exclaimer Signature Update Agent allows you to synchronize signatures directly with the user's Outlook on both Windows and macOS, as well as Apple Mail.
This article shows you how to install the Exclaimer Signature Update Agent for macOS. You can access the latest version from the Exclaimer Signatures page.
- Your Administrator has configured Outlook Signatures in the Exclaimer portal.
- You are running macOS 10.13 or above.
- You have full disk access.
Select the options below to view the related instructions:
To install the signature agent for macOS:
- On the Exclaimer Signatures page, select Download for macOS. This downloads the .dmg file to your device.
- Double-click the .dmg file. This opens or 'mounts' the file. The package file (.pkg) containing the application is found inside.
- Double-click the .pkg file to begin the installation wizard.
Run the .pkg file to begin installing the Update Agent.
- Select Continue.

- If required, select Change Install Location....to change the location where the installation is stored. Then, select Install.
To change where the installation will install the files, select Change Install Location. Select Install to proceed.
- Enter your admin Password in the credentials window, then select Install Software.

NOTE: You may need to enter the Keychain password or use Touch ID built-in on your Mac to authenticate and install the software. - Select Close to close the wizard.

- Once the software is installed and you close the wizard, you are prompted to decide whether to remove or keep the Installer.

EITHER
Select Keep to keep the installer package and disk image in its current location
OR
Select Move to Trash to move the files to the Trash.
- Sign in to your Microsoft 365 account to download the signatures.
CAUTION! You may not be prompted to sign in to your Microsoft 365 account - this may be due to not having full disk access. See the Setting full disk access section of this article.This completes the installation process for macOS.
- To check that the Exclaimer Signature Update Agent is running, locate it in the Activity Monitor.
Locate the application in the list of programs.
- Restart Outlook or Apple Mail. If you have set default signatures, these are applied automatically to new emails.
To deploy the app via Intune:
- Select Download for macOS to download the Cloud Signature Update Agent to your Mac.
- Double-click the .dmg file. This opens or 'mounts' the file. The package file (.pkg) containing the application is found inside.
- Drag the .pkg file to the Desktop.
- Log in to the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center.
- From the menu pane, select Apps, then select All apps from the Apps screen.
Select Apps, then All apps.
- Select Add, then select Line-of-business app from the App type drop-down.
Select Add, then open the App type dropdown and select Line-of-business app.
- Select Select.
- From the Add App pane, click Select app package file to select the relevant package file to be included. Locate and select the .pkg file you placed on the Desktop in Step 3.
- Select OK.
- Enter the app information:
- In Name, enter Exclaimer Signature Update Agent (macOS).
- In Description, enter a description of the app.
- In Publisher, enter Exclaimer Ltd.
- In Minimum Operating System, select macOS High Sierra 10.13.
- Select Next.
- Select +Add all devices.
- Select Next, then select Create to create the defined app.
For manual installation on individual machines:
- Open System Preferences, then select Security & Privacy.
Open Security and Privacy.
- In the Security & Privacy window, select the Privacy tab.
Select the Privacy tab.
- From the list of options, select Full Disk Access.
Select Full Disk Access.
- Enter the Administrator password to proceed.
- Find and toggle permissions for one of the following:
If the Cloud Signature Update Agent is run directly, then the Exclaimer Signature Agent will need Full Disk Access.
If the Cloud Signature Update Agent is run from the Terminal, then the Terminal will need Full Disk Access.
NOTE: Some installations of macOS require Full Disk Access to be enabled for both the Terminal and the Exclaimer Signature Agent.
Exclaimer Signature Agent app is not available
In the newer versions of macOS, the Exclaimer Signature Agent app may not be available on the allowed apps list.

To add the Exclaimer Signature Agent option to the right-hand side apps list:

- Select the padlock icon.
Select the padlock icon to make changes.
- The System Preferences window is displayed. Enter your Admin credentials to proceed.
- Select the plus + icon.
From the plus and minus symbols, select the plus.
- Navigate to Macintosh HD > Library > Exclaimer, select the Exclaimer Signature Agent app then select Open.
Locate the Exclaimer Signature Agent, then select Open.
- Select Quit and Reopen to restart the application.
The prompt to restart the app. The app cannot obtain full disk access until it is restarted.
- You will now see the Exclaimer Signature Agent on the app list. Select the padlock symbol to save your changes.
Select the open padlock to close it. This commits your changes.
- Select the padlock icon.
For installation on multiple machines via Intune:
Log in to the Endpoint Manager https://endpoint.microsoft.com.-
Navigate to Devices > Configuration Profiles.

Select + Create Profile.

Under Platform, select macOS.

Under Profile Type, select Templates.

Under Template name, select Device restrictions.

Select Create.
-
Enter a name for your policy, such as Exclaimer Full Disk Access.

[Optional] Enter a description.

Select Next.

Expand Privacy preferences, then select Add.

In Name enter Exclaimer Signature Agent.

In Identifier type enter Bundle ID.

In Identifier enter com.exclaimer.csua.

In Code requirement enter:

In Full disk access select Allow.

Select Save, then select Next.

In Assignments, select the required Mac devices.

Select Next, then select Create.
The app will not display full disk access in System Preferences > Security and Privacy using the above method; however, it will appear in System Preferences > Profiles.
