When sending an email, your signature is applied to the email and is received correctly. However, when the recipient replies to you, you notice that the images in the signature are no longer there and appear as attachments. They are also sometimes replaced with a tag similar to <image001.png>
Typically, this issue is caused when an iOS device (Apple iPhone or iPad) are being used to reply to the message. The mail client is designed to remove embedded images from the email and replace them with tags "<image001.png>" and add the image as an attachment. The tag simply references the image that has been removed from the email.
Unfortunately, as this issue is caused by the device/mail client being used, this is not something we are able to specifically control.
However, you can stop this issue from occurring by using Web Hosted images.
See the article Embedded images vs hosted images for a more detailed overview of the differences between embedded and web hosted images.
