Scenario
You are attempting to run the Apply to email from all devices including mobiles or Connect to Microsoft 365 setup and encounter an error similar to the following:
You may also see the error if you are attempting to enable the Receive from Exclaimer V2 connector in Exchange online or PowerShell.
Resolution
Exclaimer is working with Microsoft to resolve the problem causing this error message to occur. In the meantime, Microsoft kindly request any customers experiencing this issue to raise a support ticket via the Microsoft 365 admin center so they can assist in enabling the connector for your organization.
To disable the Exclaimer mail flow rule:
- Log in to the Exchange admin center using your Microsoft 365 Administrator credentials.
The Exchange admin center is displayed.
- From the left-hand navigation menu, select Mail flow, then select Rules.
- In Rules, you will see the Transport Rule created at the time of setting up Signatures for Microsoft 365.
Example:
- Click the Identify messages to send to Exclaimer rule.
The details are displayed on the right-hand pane.
- In Enable or disable rule, slide the bar to disable the rule.
This will take a few moments to update.
Once the Transport Rule has been successfully deactivated (disabled), the Transport Rule will no longer be active.
To raise a support ticket with Microsoft:
If you raise a support ticket, please provide the following details so that they can identify and enable the connector:
- Name of the accepted domain*
- TLS certificate Name*
- Connector Name: Receive from Exclaimer V2
- Connector Status: Disabled
- Email Server matches Domain*
- Connector Type to configure: On-Premise
- Connector Flow- Inbound
*The Name of the accepted domain, TLS certificate Name and Email Server matches Domain will all be the same and can be found as follows:
- In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, navigate to Settings > Domains (via the left-hand navigation pane).
- On the Domains page, locate the domain with the format <unique tenant ID>.smtp.excl.cloud
This will look similar to the domain below, however, the <unique tenant ID> is different for each customer.
Example: GEJB6J7JRBH8VXT12AT8HX6YDA.excl.cloud
Once Microsoft confirms that the connector has been enabled, you can re-enable the Identify messages to send to Exclaimer mail flow rule.
To re-enable the Identify messages to send to Exclaimer mail flow rule
- Log in to the Exchange admin center using your Microsoft 365 Administrator credentials.
The Exchange admin center is displayed.
- From the left-hand navigation menu, select Mail flow, then select Rules.
- Click the Identify messages to send to Exclaimer rule.
The details are displayed on the right-hand pane.
- In Enable or disable rule, slide the bar to enable the rule.
This will take a few moments to update.
